WhatsApp Ban is ‘temporarily’ banning users who were accessing the platform through unofficial apps from Play Store. The instant messaging Whatsapp Ban is especially targeting apps such as WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp.
“WhatsApp take care hardly about the safety of their customer. To protect the privacy and security of their whatsapp, we hardly recommended users to only download Official WhatsApp from App stores or from official Whatsapp website. We are continuing to step up our enforcement against imposter WhatsApp services to help curb abuse and keep WhatsApp users safe,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said in a statement.
WhatsApp Ban is also encouraging users to move their data to official WhatsApp. The Recommended process users to transfer their chat history before moving original data.
“Clone apps, such as WhatsApp Plus and GB WhatsApp, are alternative versions of WhatsApp. These unofficial apps are developed by third parties and violate our Terms of Service. WhatsApp doesn’t support these third-party apps because we can’t validate their security practices,” said WhatsApp on its FAQ section.
